In order to combat the spread of COVID-19 and out of concern for the health of our church members and community at large, we have made the difficult decision not to meet in person for the next two Sundays, March 22 and March 29. (Update: We are planning to have online-only services this Sunday, April 5, as well.)
This decision was not made lightly. Though we would prefer to come together in person for worship, it has become clear that large gatherings such as our services are not in the public's best interest at this time. We especially want to be considerate of those most susceptible to this virus's effects as they try to remain healthy.
At the same time, we do not live in fear. We know that our God is more powerful than a virus or any other difficulty that life throws our way. In this time of global uncertainty, we will not waiver in our faith or in our commitment to serving the Lord, because we are all in.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will give updates about future events and services here on our website and on our social media feeds as those decisions are made. For the rest of March, all in-person events are dismissed, and we will be conducting worship solely online.
Even though we cannot meet together in person, we are still united as a church family. We encourage you to keep in contact with your fellow church members and support one another during this time. We are here for you, we are praying for you, and we can't wait to see you again very soon.
Please check below for more details about the church's response to COVID-19, and please check this page and our social media feeds regularly for the latest information as it comes in.
Both our 9:00 am and our 10:30 am worship services will be livestreamed in their entirety on Sunday mornings. The livestreams will be available on our Facebook page and on our website. We invite you and your families to join us there at the time you usually attend service.
This is going to be new for all of us, so get to your computer, get comfortable, and get ready to worship God in a new way with your church family!
Following each service, the livestreams will be available to re-watch going forward. If you would like a DVD of any of our services, please contact the church office, and we would be happy to mail you one.
For tithes and offerings these two weeks, we encourage you to take advantage of our online giving platform. There you can give to the church using your debit card, credit card, or checking account.
If you'd like a walkthrough of our online giving process, please watch this video. If you have trouble or need help, feel free to contact the church office.
You can also mail a check to the church office if you prefer.
At 7:00 this Wednesday, we'll be hosting a midweek service with Bro. Jason on our Facebook page.
Bro. Johnny will be hosting an online service just for kids on Sunday at 6:00 pm on our Facebook page.
For our Blaze students, Bro. Nathan will be hosting services on Wednesday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 6:00 pm over on the youth group's Instagram account.
Ministering to our kids and teens is a top priority for Cavanaugh, so we hope they will join us for these special online services!
Each Sunday at 6:30 pm, we will livestream a Bible study lesson from one of our teachers on our Facebook page. We invite all adults to take part in this special time of digging into God's word together.
Even though we can't meet in person right now, you are still on our minds, and we are still here to minister to you. Feel free to call the church office if you need to speak with someone.
The buttons below link to two forms. The first is for those who are unable to leave their homes and would like help getting groceries, medicine, and other necessities. The second form is for those are able to leave their homes and would like to volunteer to help those in need. If you fill out one of these forms, we will contact you as soon as possible to follow up.
For the time being, we are going to have to put the It's Our Turn campaign on pause. Once we're able to meet in person again, we will reschedule the campaign events accordingly. We are very excited about what God is going to do through this campaign, and we can't wait to get it up and running again soon!
