James-Henry Christian
Youth Pastor
James-Henry Christian joined the pastoral staff at Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church as Youth Pastor in March 2025. Originally from Greenwood, Arkansas, he grew up at Cavanaugh and sensed a call to pastoral ministry during his teenage years.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry from Randall University, a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Gateway Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in New Testament at Gateway Seminary. Before returning to Cavanaugh, James-Henry served in various ministry roles, including pastoral leadership, academic teaching, and overseas missions.
James-Henry is passionate about the good news of Jesus and is committed to discipling students, supporting global missions, and building up the church through Christian education. He believes that God is supremely worthy of worship and service, and he looks forward to seeing how the Holy Spirit will work in and through the people of Cavanaugh.
He is married to his best friend, Mattie, and together they enjoy good conversation, great food (thanks to Mattie’s cooking), and spending time outdoors. In his free time, James-Henry loves reading (especially theology books), running, and playing basketball.
